Re: [parishmouse] Leas - Claines

1841 Census record shows the following entries in Lansdowne Crescent, Clains, Worcester:

William Perins, 47, Chymist
Mary, 79
Charles, 7
Elizabeth Walton, 40
Ann Blacks, 16
Laura Lea, 19 -- born 1822/1823
Charles Lea, 13 -- born 1828/1829

1851 Census record Lansdowne Crescent, Clains, Worcester

William Perins, 57, Druggist
Sarah, 50
James (son), 27
Ann Griffiths (servant), 28
Elizabeth Brown (servant), 25

John Wheeley Lea, 59, Chemist & Druggist
Laura Elizabeth Lea, (daughter) 28
Caroline Ann Cook (visitor) 38
Mary Ann Walton, 23 (servant)
Jane Walton, 19 (servant)

1861 St. John, Worcestershire

John W. Lea, 69
Laura E. Lea, 38
Charles W. Lea, 32

Although Charles married Amy, they do not appear to have had any children. No children are listed in the 1871 or 1881 census records.

Hi

I noticed there's a link to Claines parish church so I assume someone
on here must live there. I wondered if Claines parish records were
available to view anywhere?

I'm trying to verify the family legend that we're descended of John
Wheeley Lea of Lea & Perrins fame.

I'm going backwards from family knowledge and have got as far as 1843
before hitting an online brick wall with an apparently unregistered
birth, and to get beyond that I'll need to visit the Worcester records
office. I'm living in Texas at the moment, so can't do that for a while.

I'm also trying to establish J W Lea's children so I can work
downwards through the census/bmd records. He lived in Lansdowne
Crescent in Claines, so his children might be listed in parish records.

Does anyone on this list have access to those records who could find
the names and dates of birth of J W Lea's children?

Happy new year to everyone,

Matt
