well, looks like i may have confused tracey with my comments, all we
were trying to point out was that where ever or whenever it's held
it is not feasable for all members to get to the open day. this is
the reason that we think smaller 'gatherings' NOT OPEN DAYS would be
a fun idea as a consolation for those of us who cannot be there for
whatever reason. on a very personal level, we cannot stay over as we
have huge commitments at home, and we also now work weekends. my
comments were not designed to 'floor'anyone, i was just wondering
what else we could do about meeting up, throughout the calendar year.
we have always enjoyed ourselves at the open days and nobody is
saying we don't want to come along, besides it's a long way off so
who knows how our circumstances could change by then.
we always speak out on the notice board, as that's the way we think
it should be, its good to have opinions to share, and good things
can come out of such discussions.
as for the club being 'finished', well that's news to us...we
thought it was just the printing press that had retired not the
wonderful coagulation of funny pelham people, all united in their
love for pelham puppets !
our house is titchy compared to yours tracey, but when things calm
down, we will try to have a mini gathering, i would love to think
that southern people who can't travel the distance (it may even be
their first open day ) might get a chance to experience for
themselves a bit of pure pelham enthusiasm ( that's not to say that
any members from as far as timbuctoo or even narnia who want to come
along will be welcome also !).
apologies for any confusion, i just wanted to reply to eddie's
comments about his 'poor response to the open day' message, and to
put our views across. i reckon some people reading eddies message
were thinking ( as sue said ).." oh, no i'm too shy .."etc.." but
others could well have been thinking.." oh, i wish i COULD go, but
it's flippin 400+ miles away and i can't leave the dog for that
long !.."
this discussion could well be the start of a club with less
magazines, but more interaction, and whatever way you look at it,
that can't be a bad thing.

ps; we agree with keith and sue's comments too, and i would love to
go to the bromley one , 20 mins up the road can't be bad!
