Hi Sue
I'm sure your not talking to yourself, I get the email notice so if
anyone posts I usually see the messages.
I went to a toy fair just before Christmas at the NEC, In total about
twelve Pelham Puppets in the whole fair. Nothing that exciting though.
A father bear and Matthew Matic were the most interesting, I already
have a father bear and it wasn't so cheap to be a bargain and Matthew
Matic was very expensive.
With the current climate the prices might all come down but I doubt
many people selling will not know the worth of the puppet they are
selling with information now so readily available over the internet,
even if it is inaccurate or sketchy on some websites and raises
peoples expectations, so they try to sell an SS Gypsy for £150.00.
There seem to be many more websites now on the subject of Pelham
Puppets and with Davids new range added last Autumn the legacy
continues... I have noticed quite a few younger collectors appearing
with the power of the internet and able to contact each other so I can
only assume that the fascination for them will continue.
I am still collecting, but wane a bit when the finances are restricted
as we all do I suppose and then now and again treat myself when
something interesting (to my eyes) comes along... though usually on ebay!
