Last week I replied to an ad in the Lincolnshire Free Press which read
as follows:-
"Crowland Abbey is able to offer everyone the opportunity to buy pieces
of local history. Some of the stone used in building the ancient abbey
is to be sold. It is limestone from the Barnack area, cut by
stonemasons som 500 to 800 years ago and weathered into natural shapes
of various sizes. If you would like some for your garden or rockery
contact Ros Knight on 01733 211220. local delivery can be arranged
and prices are very reasonable. All proceeds from the sale will be
spent on projects in the abbey churchyard."
The lady kindly delivered my rocks last night on the way home from
work, costing the grand sum of £1.00 each! If anybody wants a cheap
rockery while helping a good cause, contact Ros while there's still
some left.
I'm glad I did because I finally have something in the garden the free
range rabbits can't wreck!!!!
