Hello Adele

I think Alec Plant was a cousin of my Dad's. I have just looked at
your Dogsthorpe website, found it very interesting. My father in law,
Victor Weston, lived in Newark Avenue for 64 years ( he passed away 3
years ago aged 91). He used to tell us stories of old Dogsthorpe, a
lot of which is mentioned on your website.
Peter ,my husband ,has memories of the old Showground, going through
the fence , also of fields where Dogsthorpe estate is now. You could
also see the Cathedrals of Ely and Peterborough across the fields in a
straight line.
The Sugar beet factory was mentioned on another message. We lived near
there, the smell used to come in to your house, on to the clothes in
the hall. The smell is not missed!
