Hello Tom,
I have a number of two stroke machines, and I have found over the years that the best answer for me is to use fully synthetic modern two stroke oil at 33:1, which works out at 150cc to 5 litres. I have found this works well even in my son's 1914 Mark 1 Villiers engine. It leaves a very oily residue over everything, and I think should work well with the long main bearings on your Junior De Luxe. I have ,of course, heard all the arguements against this, and there are many different theories, I can only tell you what has worked well for me. I well remember the difficulties of years past, with 16:1 ordinary monograde oil that needed shaking every time you used the bike, fouled the plug, and created a smoke screen behind you. The leaner ratio apparently also helps keep up the octane rating of the petrol. Many modern high performance machines use ratios as lean as 50:1. I'm just not quite that brave.

ratio. This does seem a little on the rich side. Does anybody have
experience of using a modern synthetic at leaner ratios?
