The Volunteer Analyst will work with the Nigeria country team to
represent President Clinton and the Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS
Initiative (CHAI) in Nigeria.
The Volunteer Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the success
of our program in the areas of forecasting and quantification of
demand of drug commodities, lab consumables and other commodities
that are offered through the Clinton Foundation, with the
ultimate
objective of ensuring swift ramp-up of high-quality ARV Treatment
(ART) to patients, especially children.
We seek a highly motivated individual with outstanding academic
credentials and a strong record of leadership and analytical
capabilities. As Analysts will be required to work with government
officials and implementing partners, candidates must have excellent
communications skills and a high degree of self-confidence. They
must be able to function independently and have a strong commitment
to excellence. We place great value on relevant personal qualities:
resourcefulness, responsibility, tenacity, independence, energy,
and work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Addressing and solving bottlenecks identified by CHAI, CHAI care
partners and local government partners regarding forecasting and
supply chain management
Monitoring pricing for ARVs, diagnostics and other health products,
and
facilitating communications with Procurement, Drug Access, and
other CHAI global teams as well as Nigeria Federal Ministry of
Health
Proposing tools to the MoH and providing coaching and technical
support to MoH in forecasting and quantification of drugs and
medical commodities
Facilitating the scale up of Early Infant Diagnosis capacity and
usage by working with local healthcare and laboratory workers.
Quantification of national and state-level treatment and diagnostic
needs and coordinate information sharing
Facilitating global marketplace negotiations through the collection
and communication of reliable Nigeria national data
Building capacity among government staff to manage forecasting and
quantification requirements
Working with the government to implement sound, manageable
monitoring and evaluation systems for the distribution and use of
commodities
Qualifications:
Undergraduate university
degree; a graduate degree will be an added
advantage.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills,
preferably using Microsoft Excel
Strong communications skills and the ability to manage within
sensitive political and cultural contexts
Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with a
team
Strong work ethic and flexibility
Experience with public health best practices is preferred but not
necessary.
