5th Annual Black Enterprise Awards seeks Best Businesses,
Entrepreneurs, Rising Stars and Corporate Leaders.

Take four burgeoning UK companies - The Black Farmer, Umbrolly,
PlantPal, and Yana. What do they have in common? They are run by
people with entrepreneurial zeal; and they all just happen to be
winners of the national awards scheme, Black Enterprise Awards.

To add to this hall of best businesses, entrepreneurs and corporate
leaders, Black Enterprise Awards is calling for nominations to its
fifth annual awards scheme.

Nominations open on 20 March 2006 and close 18 August 2006, and may
be made through the awards website at www.blackenterpriseawards.com.
The glittering ceremony will be held in spring 2007 at a prestigious
venue to be announced in the summer.

The ten open categories are Business Innovator, Rising Star, Emerging
Company, Entrepreneur of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Young
Entrepreneur, Corporate Leader, International Business, Enterprise
Champion, and Employer of the Year.

Speaking about the awards, the organisers said: "We are delighted
that year after year Black Enterprise Awards unearths some real
businesses, entrepreneurs and corporate leaders, who but for these
awards will never be honoured nor receive the extensive marketing
platform we arrange for them. The range of entries alone is enough
evidence that African Caribbean and African British people make their
fair contribution to the economic well-being of the UK."

Speaking at the 2005 ceremony at The Guildhall, Mr Wilfred Emmanuel-
Jones of The Black Farmer fame and Entrepreneur of the Year 2005
said, "The award is something I was very surprised to get. It's my
first ever award, I never won any awards at school! And this one was
even better because it is from my peers".


So to my PPSN members, let's get cracking on and promoting ourselves
this year and perhaps next year we'll all be in line for one of these!
