Last year, two major events really made me stop and think. One of
them was the "Live8 – make poverty history" global concerts. The
other was the "G8 summit". I pondered if I was playing my part, to
the best of my abilities? By this, I am not only referring to
helping the poor or needy in far off lands. My thoughts were, "Am I
releasing what's in my hands (great or small) to those in my own
world? What more can I do to affect those near me?"

You see, you do not have to be a millionaire to give money nor do
you have to quit your daytime job to give just a little bit (more)
of your time to those around you. It's all about having a heart of
compassion along with a giving and loving heart. With these three
ingredients, everything else falls into place.

So are YOU playing your part as a citizen of planet Earth? Did you
know that sharing your gifts/talents along with your time is one of
the highest forms of giving? So are you simply living just for YOU
or do you regularly spare a thought for others and put action to
your thoughts? Now, I am not suggesting that you pack your bags
today and head off on a charitable mission to a 3rd world country
(though some of us need something along those lines). But what are
you doing with what's in your hands on a local level? What you were
blessed with was never meant to stop with you!

I believe there are people, both far and near, who crave your gift.
In fact I would go one step further to say some one out there is
actually praying for someone, uniquely talented like you, to come
into their life! You might think this sounds a tad far fetched but I
kid you not. I have been both on the giving and receiving end of
this and there is nothing like the joy of an answered prayer.

So whose prayer, wish or dream could you make a reality today?

PS: An action taken by you is a dream come true for one, an answered
prayer for another. In both cases, it's simply a miracle! GF
