Indeed I do use COD (Close Order Drill)! For one it looks so very sharp to have either a rank kneeling wand one standing behind, or a hedge of bayonets. Also the enemy gets a nasty surprise when they charge or get charged by Iniative 4 , LD 9 IG.
Next to add to the hand to hand bonus I use Die Hards, and of course what Praetorian (or in my case Carolonian) army would be complete without Offcers who have Iron dicipline.
I round out the Doctrines with Sharpshooters (and believe me I roll far to many 1's to leave this one out) and that makes the volleys of fire even more devastaing.
I usually leave the 5th Doctrine as a floater so that I can incorporate Ogryns, Rattlings, Dragoons(Rough Riders), or even surprise the enemy with drop troops.

Some nice paint jobs, and a well-executed idea... I'd like to see more

trenches! Yes, we dig them occassionally, when it is necessary, but
I'm sure everyone here will agree that a firing line in close order is
more than a match for even the most deeply entrenched troops...
Do you use doctrines at all?
