Rifle Barrel Bore Cleaning Process.

Match shooter shooting in competition cleans barrels after 8-15
shots. It is a good rule to clean barrel when 20-30 shots are
through as a maximum shots fired. This depends on size of
cartridge case, and bore diameter. The larger the cartridge case
versus smaller bore diameter, then the more frequency is needed
in cleaning. Cleaning process 1. After shooting X numbers of
shots, the target, varmint or big game shooters should use
following method. Wet 2 patches with cleaning solvent (I use
Shooters Choice),push from rear, up front through barrel, this
takes all loose fouling out.

Next it is best to brush the barrel with copper brush, soaked in
cleaning solvent, about 10 passes, through barrel. Add solvent to
brush after few passes, at muzzle end when brush is out of barrel.
After these passes 10 maybe 20 depending on quantity of shots
fired and condition of barrel, 2 dry patches are pushed through
barrel from rear. Now the barrel should be almost clean !
To clean better it is advisable to soak a plastic brush or fiber
brush with solvent and wet the bore of barrel ! Let it stand
overnight, and check color of solvent next day. It may come out
light green or strong green, depending of fouling in barrel. If it
comes out strong green, brush some more with copper brush and
repeat wetting bore with solvent, and let it stand overnight.
Wetting barrels is only advisable with milder safe solvents, read
the bottle instructions. Some stronger Ammonia blended solvents
can damage barrels if left too long in barrel. It is advisable to leave
barrels wet with milder solvents until next shooting .

URGENT ! DRY BARREL OUT BEFORE SHOOTING .

Cleaning process, No 2. Some Rifles can have rough bores, and
foul badly. For cleaning them it may be necessary to use stronger
solvents Ammonia blended. Use the Ammonia blended solvents
carefully and only for soaking wet for 15-20 Min’s. Don’t brush
them in with copper brush; this will ruin brush, use plastic or fiber
brush. Even abrasives may be used to get out severe fouling, but
work carefully with them ! Best is to use oil soaked/abrasive patch
rolled around a cleaning jag and push through barrel in short
strokes, gradually towards the muzzle end. After using Ammonia
blended solvents, and or abrasives, it is advisable to use milder
solvents to clean barrel and do the color check overnight ! When
cleaning process is done it is good workmanship to dry out
chamber of gun, clean locking lug area, inside of action and put
small dips of grease on locking lugs.

Good Shooting !

carefully and only for soaking wet for 15-20 Min’s. Don’t brush
them in with copper brush; this will ruin brush, use plastic or fiber
When

chamber of gun, clean locking lug area, inside of action and put
small dips of grease on locking lugs.

PILLAR BEDDING.

HOW TO IMPROVE RIFLE ACCURACY.

In improving the accuracy of rifles, there are many things that need
attention.
Quality and cleaning of the rifle barrel, stifness and quality of the
bolt action, precision bedding of barreled action into stock,a good
and well adjusted trigger, scope mounts, rifle scope itself,
and handloaded ammunition. And not the least, professional smithing of
all parts and assembly of rifle.

The single most effective improvement a rifle shooter can do to his
rifle is bedding the barreled action properly, with two part epoxy
compound,like Bisonite,Devcon,Acraglas,Micro bed,or other quality
epoxy bedding compound. Which all rifle shooters can perform, given
good instructions.
I personally like to work with Bisonite and have for over 37 years.
A rifle no matter the accuracy level it delivers in unbedded
state, will increase its accuracy and overall
performance after Pillar bedding.I have over 37 years experience in
this bedding method. There is NONE better !
I have one rifle I made myself, that broke a 20 year old world record
in Heavy Bench Class 1988 at
IBS Nationals in Ohio USA,which is pillar bedded!

Rifles from manufacturers such
as,Remington,Winchester,Savage,Browning,Mossberg,Marlin,
Howa,Harrington & Richardsson,Weatherby,Sako,Tikka,Mauser,
Brno,Colt,Sig Sauer,Voere,Anchütz,Walther,Beretta,
Taurus, and all other Bolt action Rifles types, will benefit increased
accuracy by Pillar Bedding them. Period!

Here are few of the benefits the Pillar Bedding gives:

1.Even and stressless seat of action in stock, both walnut and
fiberglass. There will be no bending of
Action when guard screws are tightened into stock.(Bending of action
will happen when seat in stock is not even). Usually this is a mega
problem,to overall performance of rifle and scope/sighting in.

2.Perfect fit of action to the stock, eliminating all micro movement
between firings.(Better group accuracy)

3.Less vibration of barreled action in stock when firing.(Better
group accuracy)

4.Rifle holds sighting in adjustments, from one hunting season to
another.
Sighting in of rifle can change in unbedded state, due to the nature
of the wood and fiberglass stocks.
Wood can warp, bend, and expand, caused by temperature changes and
moisture differences.
Fiberglass stocks can aftercure and warp and bend, non less than
walnut stocks.
These changes can ruin good accuracy,if rifle was good before.

5.The Pillar bedding method nullifies the effect of changing wood or
fiberglass in stocks,so the
accuracy and rifle sighting in,is not affected during changes as in
warping,bending,expansion,and aftercuring (post curing).

6. Bedding Increases accuracy, sometimes by up to 150 % in group
size. For example a rifle shooting 1 to 1.5 inches at 100
Meters/yards may give you 0.500 to 0.700 inch groups after
bedding,and even better !
Rifles that are performing better in un bedded state will increase
accuracy ,as an example from
0.500-.700 inch groups and go down to 0.250 to 0.350 inch groups !
After Pillar Bedding.
Think about the potential this will give you at longer ranges, lets
say out to 500 yds/meters or further out ?

The Rifle Bedding Manual is a Pdf E-Book,with clear, comprehensive and
descriptive photographs and instructions and guidance,in how a
average rifle shooters can professionally Pillar bed their rifles.
Resulting in improved accuracy and consistency. The only thing needed
is a Bedding Kit,few common tools,battery drillmachine,wood chisels
and sandpaper etc.and good instructions as are in the Rifle Bedding
Manual.
Easy to follow instructions step by step of a bedding method that has
over 37 years in use.
The most accurate rifles for Precision Bench Rest Competition, are
bedded by this pillar bedding method.

To you dedicated rifle shooter,"only accurate rifles are
interesting, and worth shooting and owning".Do you agree ?

Rifle Shooter! What are you waiting for ??????

In using rifles to the outmost accuracy, and full potential,it is nessesary to
clean the barrel regularly.A hunter shooting a rifle few shots in a single
day, should clean the the barrel at end of day.A match shooter shooting in
competition cleans barrels after 8-15 shots.
It is a good rule to clean barrel when 20-30 shots are through as a maximum
shots fired.
This depends on size of cartridge case, and bore diameter. The larger the
cartridge case versus smaller bore diameter, then the more frequency is needed in
cleaning.

Cleaning Method 1.
After shooting X numbers of shots, the target, varmint or big game shooters
should use following method.
Wet 2patches with cleaning solvent (I use Shooters Choice),push from rear,up
front through barrel. This takes all loose fowling out.
Next it is best to brush the barrel with copper brush, soaked in cleaning
solvent,about 10 passes,through barrel.Add solvent to brush after few passes,at
muzzle end when brush is out of barrel.
After these passes 10 maeby 20 depending on quantity of shots fired and
condition of barrel,2 dry patches are pushed through barrel from rear.
Now the barrel should be almost clean ! To clean better it is advisable to soak
a plasic brush or fiber brush with solvent and wet the bore of barrel ! Let it
stand overnight, and check color of solvent next day.
It may come out light green or strong green, depending og fowling in barrel. If it
comes out strong green, brush some more with copper brush, and repeat wetting bore
with solvent, and let it stand overnight.
Wetting barrels is only advisable with safe solvents, read the bottle
instructions. Some stronger Ammonia blended solvents can damage barrels if left
too long in barrel.
It is advisable to leave barrels wet until next shooting starts.
URGENT ! DRY BARREL OUT BEFORE SHOOTING .

Cleaning method 2.
Some Rifles can have rough bores, and fowl badly.
For cleaning them it may be nessesary to use stronger Solvents Ammonia
blended.Use the Ammonia blended solvents carefully and only for soaking wet for
15-20 mins.Don´t brush them in with copper brush, this will ruin brush, plasic or
fiber brush.Even abrasives may be used to get out severe fowling, but work
carefully with them ! Best is to use patch rolled around a cleaning jag and push
through barrel in short strokes, gradually towards the muzzle end.
After using Ammonia blended solvents, and or abrasives,it is advisable to use
milder solvents to clean barrel and do the color check overnight !

When cleaning process is done it is good workmanship to drye out chamber of
gun, clean locking lug aeria, inside of action and put small dips of grease on
locking lugs.

Good Shooting !
