Hi Chuck

I'll give you the honest answer, I haven't spoken to Richard for a while in terms of new 1/48th historical so although we have discussed plans before, I do need to have an updated converstion with him.

I must also apologise to group members for the lack of any news here. North Star has become very busy over this year and has taken all of my time to just run the business so some things have fallen away such as Projekt X. I took down the PX site earlier this year with a view to incorporating it into the North Star site, but actually we are re-vamping both sites now. I have taken over Crusader Miniatures, and the new Crusader site is in the format of the new North Star/ Projekt X site. You'll be able to see that later this week.

There are 3 new Storm of Steel robots ready for release, plus a selection of different arms for the Soviet robot, and we'll have them for sale soon.

Nick --

Any new releases coming in 1/48th WWII? Will we ever see a Russian
Command Group? How about a German MG crew with the MG set up on its
tripod for firing?

I'd like to run a purely historical (no PX) game using the 1/48th figs
I have (Germans, Americans and Russians), but I'm missing some
"typical" poses.

Thanks

Chuck

Hi Chuck

I've pulled the Projekt X site as a separate piece and I'll be incorporating all the information that was there into the North Star site. I decided it was unnecessary extra expense and work to run two sites.

In regards to new miniatures, the Storm of Steel German Robot, British variant and Soviet Arm options are going to be moulded this coming week. Look out also for new Gallery pictures to be added to the Storm of Steel page, the professional modeller Mike Tooth has painted up the current Robots and we'll have pictures soon, the British Robot with added stowage looks great.

Northstar is letting me use some of their new Storm of Steel robots in Super
Science Tales. I'll
be using them in a Weird War II scenario in the book.

I was painting this weekend and have nearly finished the RedBot.

Hi All,

Firstly, appologies to all those who get this several times and to
the mods for being slightly OT.

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Warm Acre's "Hour of
Glory" war/board game?
It's set in WW2, with Allied agents breaking into a German stronghold
to steal information on a Top secret Atomic super weapon.
Thematically its quite cinematic, mixing elements form "Comamndo"
comics, war films & several computer games (Noteably Commandoes and
Return to Castle Wolfenstein).

Gameplay is against the clock, with minutes being used in a similar
way to action points. Players each field a character, who has various
stats for both raid mode (sneaking about, picking locks, etc) and
Assault mode (doesn't really need an explanation does it?!?)

Whilst the game as written is lacking in "weirdness", there are some
house rules up on the yahoo group for zombies, vampires, werewolves,
powered armour - most of the staple Alt-WW2 things really! It would
be very easy to tweak the rules & setting to make use of project X
figures...

If this sounds appealing to you, please drop by the fledgling yahoo
group:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/HourofGlory/

Cheers

Xander

There does not appear to be a DVD release yet. I'm not sure if there are
any plans for overseas viewing as sci fi channel does not list that
information on their site.

Oh, and another thing:

There was a comic about alt ww1, not ww2, by the name of Arrowsmith, I
think.

The ideas in the comic could be used in ww2?

The comic series Lost Squad by Devil's Due Publishing ia a must:

http://www.devilsdue.net/lost_squad

Demon-posessed soldiers, Nazi sorcerers, psychic powers and advanced
Geman technology (walking tanks and jet packs)....not to mention an
interesting set of allied heroes and a certain "pale horesman". What
more could you want?

I have comics 1-4 (of 6) - I believe No. 5 is just about due for
release in UK.

I'd just like to let you all know that the first two figures in the Storm of Steel range are out there in cyberspace for all you lovely people to drool over. I just got off the phone from Nick and he was pretty keen on getting these two figures posted and he wanted the Projekt X group to get first look in. I had a meeting with Nick last week and had a good look at the figures and I have to say they are totally awesome.

Best regards,

Hi Chuck

I have been throwing this title around without explaination.

The new robots are part of the Projekt X world, both Allies and PX
developing them at the same time to replace human soldiers. The reason
for the seperate title is I will market them on their own as well as
being part of the Projekt X range. So shops will get the Robots in a
different packet to the rest of the Projekt X range and they will have
a seperate logo etc.

Nick

Hi Everyone

I've just put up two pictures of the Storm of Steel robots.

The figures won't be released for a while yet, I'll build up the range
before launching them, but we will create a 'secret' page where group
memebers will be able to buy them on-line straight away. I'll also post
some photos soon of the Robots with other figures for size comparison,
but just to let you know they stand a little taller than the Power
Armour Soldats.

Hope you like them,

Nick

PS The first figures will be in resin. When they go on general release
they will most probably be in metal, but any you order from
the 'secret' page will be resin. Secret page will be up soon.

The robot figures are not plastic, they are produced
in a super high quality resin to bring out all the
detail that the original master figure has with NO
shrinkage from the original either.

I personally be using the same material for my range
of 28mm zombies later this year.
