Dear All,URGENT URGENT ISSUE!!!The current BMJ carries essays by Tom Hickey (for the academic boycott) and Mike Baum (a doctor, against the boycott). Please see. The BMJ is conducting a poll on this, which though the journal only came out on Saturday is currently running at over 90% against. PLEASE WILL YOU ALL AS A MATTER OF URGENCY VOTE IN THIS POLL. ANYONE CAN VOTE, WHETHER HEALTH PROFESSIONAL OR NOT, AND FROM ANY COUNTRY. THIS IS A MOMENT WHEN THE INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION TO OUR CIRCULATION LISTS CAN MAKE ITS FULL WEIGHT FELT.Secondly, some of you could post up a rapid response at bmj.com (go via the articles) saying why you support the academic boycott/medical boycott. Those of you (UK doctors) who were amongst the signatories (now over 150) of the open letter of appeal published in April might particularly consider sending in a rapid response –no matter how short- to make one or another of the points that have to be made. But we'd appreciate anyone from anywhere doing this. If you have trouble posting something up let me know.In solidarity, Derek S et alThe BMJ has a poll about the boycott. See:
