I am very sorry to say that i am extremely disappointed with the attitude of
both Islamic society and Friends of Palestine society members towards the Anti-
Apartheid week both societies are organising this week.

I sent an email out previously asking for help to set up the exhibition and to
actually be present in shifts to make sure nothing happens. Unfortunately, only
one person came forward to help in setting it up, with no one volunteering to
stay with the exhibition during their free time.
This lack of manpower caused an incident to occur today.
Lancaster University security took the exhibition down today on the grounds that
it is offensive to some people, and refused to put it back up until LUSU
approved of it. Thankfully, after talking to LUSU general secretary, the issue
was resolved and security were notified of the permission to show the exhibition
for the rest of the week.

Despite this, a repeat or similar action to this could occur again at anytime by
the same people who complained the first time, or by others who carry the same
ideas.
That is why there must be someone at the great hall at all times, and the best
way to do this is by taking it in shifts depending on free time.
I hope that all of you would volunteer to take a shift, however long or short it
might be, to prevent this from happening again.

on for the rest of the week, and the more people we get, the fewer the
individual shifts.
