Subject: Free Gaza - Sailing to break the seige
Dear all
I'm writing to let you know - first, that I have a new e mail address (hilarysmith23@...) so please can you put this into your address book....
and second, most importantly, to make sure you know about the Free Gaza Movement, which is currently sailing two boats through the Mediterranean to break the seige of the Gaza Strip. The movement has already received quite a bit of international media coverage in the mainstream press, and we need to make sure this continues, as there are obviously concerns about what steps Israel will take to try and stop the two boats, the Liberty and the Free Gaza, from getting through.
The boats plan to take nearly 40 people, from 12 different countries, to the port of Gaza and they will be carrying a symbolic amount of aid. Currently the boats are heading towards Crete, where they will pick up several more of the passengers, including Jeff Halper (Israeli activist), Huwaida (co-founder of ISM) and Lauren Booth. Then they will pick up the remainder of the crew in Cyprus, sometime next week, before sailing on to Gaza.
