I don't know if anyone on here knows why I left LWA (London Weekly
Advertiser) or if anyone has told you some lies about it.
People weren't always friendly to each other during my time on LOOT
and LWA. I got some weird phone calls and I've heard that I wasn't
the only one who got weird phone calls. There were at least two
people making the phone calls. The first phone call was asking me to
explain what the Personal Messages column was about and what the
people advertising there were like. Later on, the comments I'd made
about this were published by him in Personal Messages. This wasn't
much, compared to some later phone calls, though.
Apart from this, some people started forming cliques, excluding me
and others.
Later on, I had two vendettas started against me. I thought I'd
managed to survive the first vendetta, but my honour was damaged.
Later still, my lifestyle changed so much that I stopped going to
LNO's, which were sometimes held every weekend, and sometimes even
twice per weekend! I really wasn't having any consideration shown to
me. I used to hold the record for the number of LNO's attended, but
then I lost it or was about to lose it. One of these very frequent
LNO's was held on the same day I was moving most of my belongings
into my first flat in September 1989, so there was no way I could've
attended.
Some time later, I went to a gig at The Marquee, Charing Cross Road,
but I can't remember now who was playing. The Marquee was in Charing
Cross Road for a few years after it closed in Wardour Street. After
leaving the gig, I walked down the road to The Royal George pub. I
was surprised to be recognised by some LOOTers who I didn't
recognise, but they recognised me from old photos. After this, I
started going regularly to that pub on Wednesday nights to meet up
with them, because it didn't clash with clubs and gigs at the
weekends. Later on, attendance declined, but one LOOTer, or by that
time Waggler, managed to persuade everyone to go to another pub.
After that I had a vendetta launched against me, then I left LWA
where my name was Europaman. I started advertising in LWA again a
couple of years later to have a go at people, using the name Thorn
(in your side), then I left for good.
