The new library is expecetd to open in July or August, with the official
opening in September or October.




The focus group set up by the Council to help with planning the new
library now wants to set up a "Friends of Raynes Park Library" group,
which will be responsible for advising and working with the Council to
help make the library and the meeting room responsive to local needs.




There will be a meeting at 8 p.m. on Monday 11th July in the
Salvation Army Hall in Kingston Road (between Chestnut and Sidney
Roads) to agree a constitution and choose a committee for the
Friends. Everyone is welcome. This will also be an opportunity to
hear the latest news about the library, and it may even be possible to
visit it after the meeting (depending on the state of the building).
