When disposing of all your Christmas wrapping paper, please be
aware that the bin which appeared recently outside the offices of
Coding Services Ltd., on the north side of Coombe Lane opposite the
end of West Barnes Lane, is not intended for public use.
A member of their staff explained to me the other day that rather than
them renting their forecourt to the council, as London Electricity used
to with part of their site next to Thames Water before they got the
idea of submitting planning proposals for it, the company actually rents
the bin from the council for their own use. Unfortunately, there's
nothing to indicate this, and they haven't got a lock for it yet, so I'm
sure I'm not the only person who's been innocently abusing their
facilities (on the rare occasions when there's been any space left in it).
So those of us who don't get paper collected from home will have to
continue trudging along to Wyke Road or Approach Road.
