SECRETARY

Are you newly retired, or do you have some spare time on your
hands? Do you care about the local environment?

The Raynes Park and West Barnes Residents' Association is looking
for someone to fill the role of Association Secretary. This involves
only a few hours' work each month, attending the committee and/or
open evenings (one each month except for August) and assisting the
Chairman and team with administrative and organisational matters and
some letter-writing. Minuting of meetings is undertaken by a dedicated
Minutes Secretary.

The other main task is acting as the initial point of contact between
residents and the Association between meetings.

Common sense and organisational skills are the only "qualifications"
necessary. Access to a PC and e-mail are valuable, but not essential
assets. A good knowledge of the area is also very useful.

If you are interested and would like to know more, please call the
Acting Secretary, Jill Truman, on 8879 3525.

ROAD STEWARDS AND AREA CO-ORDINATORS

The Association is always ready to welcome new Road Stewards.
These are the "grass roots" of our organisation who spend twenty
minutes to an hour each month delivering "The Guide" to members in
their locality, and perhaps a little longer each year collecting
subscriptions from them. Currently, for example, we are looking for
someone to deliver about twenty "Guides" in the Elm Walk area.

If you want to keep fit, and walk with a purpose, what better way?

From time to time, we also need Area Co-ordinators. The Area
Co-ordinators deliver batches of "Guides" to the Road Stewards in
their area (usually between eight and ten "drops") ; obviously a car is
useful for this. They also take on the responsibility of giving out receipt
books to road stewards and taking in the subscriptions that have been
collected. We are currently short of an Area Co-ordinator for
Coombe Lane, and would very much like to hear from anyone who
would be prepared to take on this task.

Anyone interested in helping the Association in either of these ways
should contact Martin Mitchell on 8540 8508.
