residential development of this site on Tuesday 7th March in the main
hall of Raynes Park High School, starting at 7.30 p.m.
The next meeting of the area forum wil be at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday

Topics for discussion include public consultation on local health
services, the Local Development Framework and the council's strategy
for sport and physical activity.

The Friends of Cannon Hill Common are organizing a tree-planting
session on the common opposite Parkway on Saturday 12th
November, starting around 10 a.m., and would be grateful for any
volunteers to help clear the ground and plant the trees.
A coffee morning and bring & buy sale in aid of St. Raphael's
Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care will be held from 10.30 a.m.
to 1 p.m. on Saturday 12th November at 17a, Blenheim Road, by

David Harrison's slideshow about the history of Raynes Park was a
sell-out, with several people turned away at the door... but there will
be a repeat performance on Monday 14th November, again at 7.30
in the new community hall at the library. As before, please call 8946

David will also be repeating his popular guided walk of the area on
Sunday 16th October, starting outside the station (Coombe Lane

David J. Harrison will be presenting a slide show about the history of
Raynes Park in the community hall attached to the new Raynes Park

Brook on Sunday 26th June.

ending at the Thames Pathway near the Wetlands Centre in Barnes

On Monday 16th May, all residents are invited to attend an open
public meeting, starting at 7 p.m., in the main hall of Raynes Park
High School (entry via main entrance close to Bushey Road -
pedestrian access from West Barnes Lane, follow the path along the
brook). This will offer an opportunity to discuss proposals for the
future of the RSA ground.
The new library is expecetd to open in July or August, with the official
opening in September or October.
The focus group set up by the Council to help with planning the new
library now wants to set up a "Friends of Raynes Park Library" group,
which will be responsible for advising and working with the Council to
help make the library and the meeting room responsive to local needs.
There will be a meeting at 8 p.m. on Monday 11th July in the
Salvation Army Hall in Kingston Road (between Chestnut and Sidney
Roads) to agree a constitution and choose a committee for the
Friends. Everyone is welcome. This will also be an opportunity to
hear the latest news about the library, and it may even be possible to
visit it after the meeting (depending on the state of the building).

22nd Wimbledon Scout Group are holding a jumble sale on Saturday 7th
May 2005 in their Arthur Road Headquarters. The event starts at 2pm
and admission is 40p.
If you wish to donate items please bring them along to the HQ on
Friday evening 6th May between 7.30 and 9pm.
Money raised is used to maintain and finance the HQ and grounds -
which have now stood on this site for 40 years this summer, and to
sponsor boys from the group who will be participating in the European
Scout Jamboree or Eurojam, being held this summer in CHelmsford - 20
boys and 5 leaders are going along for the 12 day festival.
