********REVIEWS CHRISTMAS SPECIAL****************

A CHRISTMAS CARROT
(the 11th episode of the 47th Series of Sooty (First Season of Sooty
Heights)
Rating: 9 out of 10

For this years Christmas special, Sooty and his friends take on the
famous story of `A Christmas Carol' since one grumpy Richard doesn't
like the idea of putting on Christmas at Sooty Heights and Liana,
Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampi doesn't like this and plans to teach
Richard a lesson about Christmas.

We join our friends with Sweep getting confuse and pop a balloon when
Liana said `Pop it over there', Sooty helps with his magic wand but
blows it up so much he pops another balloon also. They manage to blow
up all the balloons and get the Christmas decorations when Richard
comes along and decides `There will be no Christmas at Sooty Heights
and that's final'.

With everyone else feeling sad they all hold a staff meeting for
everyone expect Richard, He wants to know what's happening so he
listens at the door and his nose gets knock by the door when everyone
was coming through the door. At the meeting Liana tells our friends
the story of `A Christmas Carol' and our friends decide to play this
trick on Richard at the middle of the night.

Liana talks more about the story of `A Christmas Carol' with Sweep
getting really confused by all the names in the story with Sweep
thinking Carol is a real person. Scampi also gets confuse and starts
playing with marbles when Liana talks about Jake Marley. Richard is
still standing by his words and doesn't want Christmas at Sooty
Heights.

So are friends go along with their plan, we find out Richard isn't
that horrible and wants Christmas at Sooty Heights but only for the
six of them. Scampi is first to haunt Richard and he is Jake the
ghost of marbles, Sweep haunts Richard as the ghost of Christmas
pasta, Sooty haunts Richard as the ghost of Christmas Present dress
up as a present and Soo haunts Richard as the ghost of Christmas
Fuser. With Richard laughing his head off with their entire mistakes
he has a change of heart when he wakes up in the morning.

Richard throws a Magic Surprise Christmas Party for all of their
friends and puts on some magic tricks for them to be entertained by.
And they end off with a great Christmas song to end the first series
of Sooty Heights off with a bang.

So they end the series with a good and watchable episode and they
like many people before them try to put a new spin on `A Christmas
Carol' and in their typical Sooty way they do it just fine and this
is something you can easily watch again and never be bored about.

Episode Review: Sooty – Santa's Back (08 out of 10)
All we want for Christmas is Presents and all we really want is an
above normal episode of Sooty and we got it in the shape of Santa's
Back. It's Christmas at Sooty Heights and Sooty and Sweep are all
excited because it's Christmas. But when they are being naughty,
Richard tells them off and are more like Soo. Later on Sweep and Soo
were playing in the living room and Soo uses Richard's Christmas
jumper to mop up spilt paint. Soo is upset and when Richard finds his
jumper he blames Sweep.

Sweep hates that he's being blame off something he didn't do because
Richard wouldn't think that Soo would do such a bad thing. The hotel
is closed for Christmas but a guest under the name `Kris Mess' wants
a room and will pay 3 times the normal pay. Everyone speaks to him
and say `your name rhymes with Christmas', but our guest doesn't want
to know, as he wants to get away from Christmas.

Later on still trying to get away from Christmas, Kris Mess hides in
the attic were Sweep is crying. Kris asks `why are u upset', and
Sweep explains that he's being blame for messing up Richard's jumper.
Sweep ask (or squeaks) `why do u dislike Christmas' and Kris
explains `imagine being Santa and having to travel to 33 billion
children in one night and eating all the mince pies and drinking all
that milk?' Sweep replied that he would love it. Kris finds Soo and
makes the two friends make up, then Soo explains to Richard that it
was her that mess up the jumper.

All the friends go to sleep, waiting for Santa and here a noise in
the backyard. They were soon to discover that Kris was actually
Santa. He said to all of them `I just wanted a year off, but Sweep
soon made me see want Christmas really means, To Be Loved and share
with friends'. But Santa was late to deliver the gifts so he asks
Sooty and his chums to help. They arrive home late and Richard and
Vicki wonder where they were?

Got to love a great Christmas Special and at the last episode, this
series has just found out what its all about… Let Sooty be Sooty and
this is how you get a great episode. The last song of the
series `Santa's back' was catchy but ok. And we were soon to find out
that this was the last episode of a 20-year career for Brenda
Longman, the voice of Soo. I say you can't have gone out on a better
show.
