It's so far unsure what role Sooty will play in the launch from
showing classic series (must likely Sooty & Co but doubtful The
Sooty Show may feature) to Series 52 even know its Year 53 coming up
to Year 54 but i'll find out news about this soon.

ITV Kids to launch on 11 Feb 2006

ITV has earmarked the 11 February 2006 as the launch date for its
long-awaited move into the children's digital TV market.

The as yet unnamed channel will launch on the Freeview system and
other cable and satellite platforms.

Content will be drawn from ITV's existing portfolio of children's
programming, including originally produced drama, entertainment,
animation, factual and pre-school material.

The broadcaster has also pledged to commission other programming in
the coming months.

The children's strand to ITV will be the fourth digital channel
rolled out by the broadcaster in recent years, following ITV2, ITV3
and the soon-to-be-launched ITV4.

Estelle Hughes, the current editor of CiTV, is being promoted to
include editorial responsibility for the new channel.
