Barn (valerie.a.davenport)
My door hangs by one nail
against the worst weather I stand without fail
hay in my top floor is now thin and bare
I feel so empty with no little creatures now to play there
A farm barns roof should not leak in
must admit I am wearing a little thin
I miss the children who once played in me
I kept them safe from any danger you see
The walls do creak and lean this way and that
The colours of autumn have blown into me yet didn't disturb a
sleeping cat
Just a farm barn who misses the cattles musical call
As I miss being usefull to all
To you the barn may look a wreck a pitifull sight
But with a bit of do it yourself any damage can be put right
Then once again inside the children could play
Safe from all dangers that might come their way
