Group Meal Out - Thursday 12 October

The Barn Thai Restaurant on Unicorn Hill will be the setting for our first group meal out within Redditch, to take place on Thursday 12 October from 7pm. Our first group outing at The Winged Spur in Ullenhall was attended by 15 people, our second at The Little Lark in Studley by 12 - let`s see if we can set a record this time!!

Unlike our first two venues, the Barn Thai have various vegan options on their standard menu, including several stir fried beancurd dishes, stir fried veg in soy sauce and a vegetable salad, and others such as curry which are at least vegetarian. These main courses are usually very substantial and cost £4.95 or £5.95.

We are compiling a list of people that would like to attend the meal, so please get in touch if you`re interested. This meal is not restricted to people already involved with RVV, as always, newcomers are very welcome!

Group meals out are a great way to meet and socialise with local veggie/vegan people. They`re also an enjoyable way to promote the veggie/vegan diet. Read more about our regular meals here 

Fairtrade Meal at Redditch College - Thursday 2 November

The Redditch Trade Justice Network (RTJN) have arranged a fairtrade meal at Archers Restaurant on the Redditch Campus of NEW College, to take place on Thursday 2 November. Archers have agreed to provide a 2 course meal including a drink for £10. At least one vegan option will be available and members of RVV have been invited along.

A handfull of local dignitaries (ie Redditch MP, mayor etc) have also been invited, as well as local shop, restaurant, cafe owners/managers, whom RTJN would like to persuade to stock/supply fairtrade food. But the large majority of diners, will be members of the general public. In total, RTJN hope that 45 people will be attending!

We need to inform the college exactly how many vegan/vegetarian meals they will have to provide, and they need payment at least 2 weeks beforehand, so if you would like to go, please book seats with us ASAP. This meal is not restricted to people already involved with RVV, as always, newcomers are very welcome!

We shall be selling tickets for the meal at our guest speaker meeting on Wed 4 October, so please bring some cash with you if you intend to book a place. Alternatively, please make a cheque payable to `Redditch Trade Justice Network` and send it to RVV, PO Box 10202, Redditch B98 8YT.
