At our previous house we had a minor mouse infestation. The trap we used was
no more than a deep smooth sided plastic bucket stood upright with a 'Lego'
block built steps (pile of books will do just as well) to its rim. In the
bucket was a handful of sunflower seeds and plain nuts, plus a bed of tissue
paper. Little mouse smells the nuts, goes up the steps and jumps in and
because of the smooth sides of the bucket he can't climb out. Two nights of
this and the job was done.
