I'm forwarding this from PETA.
Who wants to eat milk chocolate in any case?
However it's a pity that PETA hasn't the same concern for the animals on
which Ecover tests: it still recommends Ecover washing-up liquid.
Best wishes,
Patricia

Dear Friend,

PETA US recently discovered that Mars is directly responsible for a series
of gruesome experiments on animals. These include feeding mice a
confectionery ingredient and then forcing them to swim through a pool of
water mixed with white paint to find a hidden platform. In another
experiment baby mice are crammed into 'metabolic chambers' and submerged in
cold water. These mice are then force-fed another ingredient, starved,
killed and dissected!

We desperately need your help to save these animals from unimaginable
suffering. Please send a message via our online petition to Mars telling
the company exactly what you think of its continued use of cruel and deadly
animal tests: http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/marsuk07.

Mars is a huge multinational company based in the US which produces
well-known confectionery brands such as Bounty, Galaxy, M&Ms, Snickers,
Twix, Milky Way, Revels, Starburst and Skittles. Divisions of Mars in the
UK produce well-known brands such as Uncle Ben's and Dolmio, while the
company's companion animal food division produces the brands Cesar, KitKat,
Pal, Pedigree, Sheba, Whiskas, Aquarian and Trill.

Despite the fact that PETA US recently contacted Mars and urged it to put an
end to its deadly animal experimentation programme, these tests continue!
That's why we're asking you to add your name to the list of many other
compassionate people and send a message to Mars' chief executive officer via
our online petition.

PETA and its affiliates around the world have been incredibly successful in
ending tests like these before. Other major food and beverage companies
such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo recently announced an end to their
animal-testing programmes after PETA US contacted them. Please help us add
Mars to the list of compassionate brands and make this another victory for
the victims of vivisection.

Please take action today and help save countless animals who are suffering
right now in Mars' animal testing programme.

Kind regards,

Poorva Joshipura
Director
PETA Europe
