Subject: Help PETA Banish Foie Gras From the Shelves of Selfridges
Dear Friend,
Join PETA for a demonstration we will be holding outside Selfridges in
Birmingham this Saturday, 19 January.
Come along to hold signs, distribute leaflets or dress up as a duck to help
save thousands of ducks and geese from the torture of foie gras production.
The more, the merrier - so please tell your friends, family members and
co-workers about it so the maximum pressure is put on Selfridges to stop
selling foie gras.
Show the "luxury" department store that shoppers refuse to spend money there
until they display some compassion and stop selling foie gras. We need to
remind Selfridges that there's nothing luxurious about the diseased liver of
ducks and geese who are force-fed on a daily basis. For foie gras, tubes are
crammed down birds' throats, and up to 4 pounds of grain and fat are pumped
into their stomachs - until their livers become painfully diseased and
enlarged and, in some cases, their organs rupture.

Selfridges is one of only a few retailers that continue to sell foie gras.
Selfridges' executives have been told numerous times about the cruel
industry, but it appears they do not care for the welfare of these beautiful
and intelligent birds.
The protest will take place outside Selfridges in Birmingham (at the cross
road of High and New streets, next to the Bullring). Please let me know if
you can attend this exciting protest against cruelty by contacting me at
NoemieV@.... The demonstration will start at 2 pm sharp.
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
Yours sincerely,
Noemie Ventura
