Re: [rvv] France for vegans

Thanks Patricia.  I am always amazed by the fab fruit and veg in France.  I didn't know that about corn on the cob.  Veg kebabs are okay, but I do like a sausage from the bbq.  Sad but true.  Perhaps I'll smuggle some in my suitcase!

There's no shortage of fruit and veg in France, nice bread, pasta, rice etc.
What's wrong with veg kebabs? The only thing that's nice barbecued that you
may have difficulty finding is corn on the cob, because in France it's fed
to cattle.
Bon voyage!
Patricia

hello
just wondered if anyone could help me with my quandry. we are going to
france for a fortnight in may and last time i went i was a veggie,
which was okay 'cos they have alot of lovely cheeses and stuff. This
time I am a vegan and wondered if anyone knew what the situation is.
we are self catering, so I am more interested in what i will be able to
buy in the supermarkets rather than in restaurants. can you buy any
vegan meat style products such as tofu and vegan sausages? i don't
normally eat loads of this type of stuff, but as there is a bbq at the
property we are staying at, I thought it might be nice. if they don't
sell this type of stuff, could anyone give me any tips on what else to
bbq other than vegetable kebabs. we are going to northern france, pas
de calais, if this helps.
Jo
