Dear All,
The following event may be of interest and even if it's not it gives you
an idea of some of the things staff of The Vegan Society get up to.
The Changing Lifestyles event is bringing together people from as far
away as Herefordshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Staffordshire and
the Welsh borders.
The Birmingham group has a stand throughout and will be making links
with potential allies such as the Transition Towns network. (Rob
Hopkins, Transition initiator, is taking part in the Tuesday evening
events after Amanda's talk and presenting the following morning.)

Midlanders to hear benefits of meat-free menus
Good plant-based food can be delicious and eco-friendly - and good for
business. That's the message Midlanders will hear next week from Amanda
Baker of The Vegan Society. Amanda will address the 'Changing
Lifestyles' expo at Birmingham Town Hall at 3.30 pm on Tuesday 3
February.
Amanda Baker said today, "Good plant-based food is well worth tasting:
it's tasty and nutritious and kind to people, animals and our planet.
Plant-based food can reduce pressure on our scarce reserves of fertile
land, fresh water and fossil fuels. Good vegan options on menus can
attract a wide range of new customer such as healthy eaters and
vegetarians and groups with one vegan member."
Businesses can benefit from promotional partnerships with The Vegan
Society, such as the free 'Vegan-Friendly Promise' window sticker
scheme. You are also welcome to contact The Vegan Society for free
information and personal mentoring on plant-based living. Free copies
of the full-colour booklets 'Vegan Catering for All' (for caterers) and
'Plant-Based Nutrition' are also available from The Vegan Society.
