From the reading for today:
"Our Saviour and anointed King is the Son of God. We can lean upon his
breast and know that we are folded about with divinity, that our refuge
is the eternal God, and that the arms which are clasped about us are
everlasting. In all danger we may rest secure, for the power that would
pluck us out of our resting place must be mightier than God's."
What a great thought that in the midst of all that life throws at us,
that we can 'lean upon his breast'. A place of security and comfort.
Someone once said that Christainity was just a crutch to help us
through life's troubles. NO, it is a life-support system, without
Christ we would be lost, cast aside in a sea of despair and have no
hope for the future.
As JR Miller reminds us, "In all danger we may rest secure, for the
power that would pluck us out of our resting place must be mightier
than God's." We are secure, saved by God's power and hidden with Christ
in God.
