Tomorrow (06/02/04) Orange PCS (UK) will announce internally that it
is to consider outsourcing some of the more simple calls (i.e. pay
as you go registrations) to a call centre in India. This means the
loss of UK jobs, and a possible degradation of service for potential
new customers.
This follows leads set by other reputable British companies, such as
BT, British Airways, Lloyds TSB, etc, and is slowly taking service
sector jobs away from the areas in which these call centres are
based, usually economically depressed areas with high rates of
unemployment.
If you are concerned about this particular incident, and would like
to make your views known, then contact Orange, and stop the move
before it happens.
Orange are contactable by the following methods:
Phone: 07973 100 150 (Contract Customer Services)
07973 100 451 (Pay As You Go Customer Services)
Via the website: http://orange.co.uk follow the links from `contact
us'
Please take immediate action if you are of the opinion that these
jobs should remain in the UK.
Thanks for your potential support,
No UK Jobs Abroad.
