To my anonymous and poorly educated admirer: I'm sorry if you
thought I was being a baby. I would have emailed you about it
privately, as I did with Featureless Void, but felt that my
relatively tame (by our standards) comic reply was an amusing way to
get the message to you, and not one you would overreact to.
I'd also forgotten about this forum. I never have had need to use it
in the past. If I've broken some sort of rule, I apologize to those
who sign the comments they've made recently. I value the opinions of
those who sign their comments, including those who have been
critical of me, particularly because they are willing to back what
they say. I've tried to do the same and have even, in recent weeks,
begun adjusting a few of my votes on earlier strips to reflect this
new attitude. With the hundreds (thousands?) of strips in the
archive, this will take quite a while, but I'm enjoying seeing some
of the older strips again.
I can certainly understand why many of you are picky about the
little mistakes, like spelling, punctuation, missing words. We've
all made these mistakes and corrected them when we felt it
necessary. But when a phrase is in dispute, I would respectfully
offer that I have the right to explain my choice, especially when
the criticism is posed in the form of a question. My preference to
do so in a comic, while not popular with all of you kids, is just my
attempt to bring a little joy into your lives, giving you all a
chance to boo me for going meta.
My best to all of you,
Christopher Hart.
