ROBBIE WILLIAMS is settling in Los Angeles and has moved into RINGO
STARR's old home. The singer plans to rent the plush £2million, six-
bedroom pad until he finds a place in the area to buy. Robbie reckons
basing himself in LA means he will be able to kick booze and drugs
for good. In January the star was ordered by his record bosses to
take a six-month break from showbusiness and the London lifestyle to
relax and recuperate. He flew out to LA and pals say the health-
crazed Californian culture is working wonders on the jaded singer.

One said: "He was staying in a hotel but now he is in a proper home.
It makes him feel more like he actually lives in LA. He has ordered
his estate agents to start looking for a property for him because he
wants to base himself out there much more now. He is prepared to
spend a lot of money to get the right place. The healthy lifestyle in
LA is great for Robbie. He attends Alcoholics Anonymous every day and
reckons in the US he can quit booze and drugs for good." The friend
added: "He is a bit scared of London to be honest and reckons it is
too easy to go off the rails there."

Robbie rents the sprawling Hollywood Hills home for £12,000 a month
from its current owner, Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers star DAN
AYKROYD. The pop star's new neighbours include JENNIFER ANISTON and
BRAD PITT, LEONARDO DiCAPRIO, and CHRIS EVANS and BILLIE PIPER. The
luxury pad, which was owned by former BEATLES star Ringo in the
Eighties, includes an enormous driveway, gym and swimming pool.

Robbie will still spend time in Britain, at his £6million Notting
Hill home. But he is finding life in LA far less stressful than being
here. He is virtually unknown in America so can meet friends in
restaurants and bars without fear of being hounded. Robbie is also
romancing American movie publicist VICTORIA SCHWEIZER and the pair
jet between New York and LA for dates.
