SCOTS star Ewan McGregor has convinced film director George Lucas to give singer
Robbie Williams a role in his next Star Wars movie. According to sources, the
former Take That singer will spend five weeks on set in Australia with McGregor,
who plays Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi, when shooting of Episode III begins next
April. An insider said: "No one knows what part Robbie will play and even if
he's going to be a human or an alien. "But George has agreed to let him have a
part after being convinced by Ewan that he can do a job. Ewan and Robbie know
each other through Nicole Kidman. Robbie's desperate to act and nobody is going
to be able to miss him in Star Wars." Robbie, currently negotiating a new
contract with EMI, is keen to break into acting. He starred in a documentary
about his life on the road last year, Nobody Someday, and has used short films
as videos for his hits.
