It all seemed so rosy for the Robster the other day - huge megabucks deal
signed, new album on the way, Rachel Hunter keeping him company, Christmas TV
special planned. Well, now it's all gone a bit pear shaped.

First, the news of the TV special was leaked to the press and now it seems to be
in doubt, as Robbie apparently claimed he'd back out if the story was leaked.
Secondly, Rachel and Robbie are, if the tabs are to be believed, close to being
on the rocks. Finally, Robbie's songwriting partner Guy Chambers, who co-wrote
'Millennium', 'Angels' and loads of others, may soon be departing the scene.

It seems Robbie's management want to sign Guy to an exclusive contract, meaning
he can only write for Stoke's finest. But Guy wants to be free to pen songs for
other artists as well. If he refuses to be restricted it may mean he and Robbie
part ways, and when a songwriting partnership as strong as this one goes down
the plughole the singer's career often goes with it - look at Elton after Bernie
Taupin left him, or Meat Loaf post-Steinman. We'll know in the next few days
whether Guy will stick around or not. But Robbie must be keeping his fingers
crossed.
