Following the announcement of his starring role in, um, 'Magic
Roundabout', Robbie is looking to break onto the big screen. The
Daily Star is reporting that he's about to be cast as the lead in a
movie remake of the classic '70s cop show 'Baretta'.
Tony Baretta was that staple of '70s TV, the unconventional police
officer. Is there any other kind!? The series was huge and Mr
Anonymous Source is quoted as saying that "all of Hollywood is abuzz
about Baretta... the part is the most sought after role in Hollywood
and it looks like Robbie is the lucky guy who has landed it."
And why the sudden revival of a forgotten TV show? It's because the
original star, Robert Blake, is facing trial for the murder of his
wife. Robbie is reportedly going to visit the jailed actor in clink
for tips on the role. And in a move that takes tastelessness to new
heights, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas at the same time as the
trial hits the court rooms. Well, how could tinseltown let all that
free publicity go to waste?
