The final appointment to the board of Creative Scotland 2009 Ltd, the
transitionary company that will work with the Scottish Government to establish
the proposed agency, has been announced. Having stated that a creative
practitioner would be recruited, musician Phil Cunningham joins chair Ewan Brown
and Richard Holloway, Chris Masters, Peter Cabrelli and Sheena McDonald as
non-executive directors. Follow the link below for the Scottish Government's

The first in series of quarterly events at which Holloway, Brown and Culture
Minister Mike Russell will report on progress toward Creative Scotland will take
place at the Lyceum Theatre, Grindlay Street, Edinburgh from 9:30 – 12:30 on
Tuesday 23 June. The event is open to all in the sector but those wishing to
attend must register with Kathryn Stewart on 0131 244 7186 or
creativescotlandinvitations@... by Monday 15th June. The SAU
will be sending representatives to participate in the discussion.
The SAU understands that a definitive ministerial statement on the relationship
between Creative Scotland and Scottish Enterprise is imminent. This was a key
stumbling block for his predecessor, so it is vital that Mike Russell present a
coherent vision for the two organisations. In particular he must clarify to
which the government's prescribed list of creative industries will be expected
to look for support.
