Most people have heard that there are plans in the pipeline to build thousands of new homes throughout the country in response to the huge housing demand we now have. However, many people are unaware of the sheer scale and exact locations of what is being proposed. Save the South aims to spell out the plans in detail so that those of us who will be affected (all of us) will at least get the chance to make our opinions known.

Our initial focus will be a petition calling on the government to scrap the current housing targets being forced upon Southern England, which we consider to be wholly unsustainable (see the website at http://www.savethesouth.org.uk for a link to the petition, an in-depth discussion, and our proposals for an alternative way forward).
