When I stared to open my mouth on this issue I knew
that I would be considered as a very, very rude person
by many teachers. I don't mind that - my conscience
pricks me when I meet pupils who suffer educationally
because teachers who have moribund ideas and attitudes
are delivering some utterly wrong type of goods.

Yesterday's [UK periodical] TIMES EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENT says:
The message on lifelong education isn't getting
through.

Certainly it can't get through teachers who say:
I have done that for 15 years. So why shouldn't I
continue to do so?

...the map room on a ship is at one remove from the
boiler room and the map room at army headquarters is
at one remove from the front line. Maps point, but the
map readers must generate the movement.........WWW

Who dares to teach must be prepared to continue
learning.

Believing that we can solve most problems in this
society by improving the quality of education
