Folks
Many science teachers are performing much below their potential
because they are working under poorly informed and outdated HODs.
In good ITT courses you are told that the quality of teaching is the
most important factor determining the quality of learning and the
following analogy is given:
The door moves through 1.a small angle(~a small change in the quality
of teaching) near the hinges and 2.a large angle(~a large change in
the quality of learning) near the edge.
Substitute 1.a small change in the quality of HOD for a small change
in the quality of teaching and 2.a large change in the quality of
science teachers for a large change in the quality of learning.
But then you need to apply a greater force near the hinge ..to make
the door move......
Best wishes
