Hi Joe,

Buskits produce some Alexander bodied bus kits that might fit your requirements.
See http://www.themodelbus.com/kits/buskits.htm

Also Marsden Models have just announced some Scottish bus kits as well. Have a
look at http://www.themodelbus.com/images_model_kits/Marsden_2009-10.pdf

As for paints, well I'm sure some of the proprietory paints makers will fit the
bill. The Model Bus Federation produced a list of Scottish liveries and the
paints available to match them.

Hope that is of help,

Doug.

I've just read that the Glasgow DD42 is scheduled for release during the week
commencing 30th March. It will be a split destination run, with a total of 1700
models across both of them. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Hello everyone

Looking for a wee bit of help!

I am the part owner of a former Scottish Bus Group Dennis Dominator with Alexander RL Bodywork vehicle reg TYS 259W. A friend has offered to repaint a model into Clydeside Scottish livery to show how the vehicle will look completed. The problem is I dont know which model to buy for him to use. Searching on line all I can find is the later version of the R type with new front end. To be honest it doesnt need to be a Dennis Dominator it could be Leyland or Metrobus so long as its got the RL style of body work.

The are pictures of the vehicle on my webpage, at www.clydeside- scottish. co.uk

Any help much appreciated!

KInd regards

Kenny

I've got both the A1 RTW's now and very good they are too. The paint
on one is a wee bit orange-peely, but apart from that I'm very happy
with them both. Corgi kept quiet that fact that it was a split
destination run. I have emailed them to ask if it is 500 of each
model, given the 1000 run on the certificate. If I hear from them,
I'll let the group know.

I also picked up the EFE West Coast Motors Y-type today. I think it
looks very good indeed. The only down side is that it should have a 4
leaf door, and EFE have modelled it as a 2 leaf door. They could so
easily have added some tampo printing to the doors to make it a 4
leaf one. Still never mind.

Coming next from EFE is the Eastern Scottish Lodekka, due in March.
There's also some net chat about EFE doing a Fife Y-type. All I can
say to that is about time!!!

Doug.

I have no ides Wlater. I understand that the production run is 1000,
however I don't know if it's 500 for each destination. I have emailed
Corgi and await a reply from them. If I hear anything I will let you
know.

Hello Doug,

Welcome to the group, and many thanks for joining.

As with a lot of these groups, you will find that for the large part, it will lie dormant. Please do not be put off by this. If there is anything the group can help you out with, please post your message. Remember, there is a wealth of talent in the group.

If you do your own code 3 models, 'Sanc Decals' is a good source of material. They can be found in the www.fifescottish.com website under the 'classified' section.

I will look at your site later on.

Hello everyone,

I found this group whilst checking out the net for photos of Scottish
buses. A quick introduction, I'm Doug, born in Glasgow, living in
Manchester for the last 22 years. I have been collecting model buses
since my first purchase, the EFE Midland Lodekka, in 1992. I collect
all Scottish models in 1/76 scale. I also collect Manchester models and
Hong Kong buses too. I have a fotopic site, and all the Scottish models
can be found at;

http://www.doug- stewart.fotopic. net/c422875. html

There's some great forthcoming Scottish mmodels that I am looking
forward to, the Eastern Scottish Lodekka from EFE and the Glasgow DD42
and A1 RTW from OOC. I'm hoping there'll be more Lowlanders from
Britbus too.

Doug.
