Jim,
I am not sure of the best way for you to go about this. I did hear
that a Group might be set up in the Cumbernauld area but not sure if
that ever happened. I am meeting with one of the Ambulance
Service Officer's who looks after First Responder Groups this week so
I will ask him for some advice and maybe pass your e-mail address to
him.
Regards,
James.

Hi
I am a new First Responder based in Central Scotland. Does anyone in
your group know if we as volunteers are offered the same financial help
as SAS members should we have an accident on duty. I have asked our
group, however no one seems to have any idea.
Thanks
Hanza
All the best to you and yours Jim for 2007and to all Responder teams, we hope you have had a quiet Festive period

Hi folks,
As a Group we would be very interested in talking to other First
Responder Groups in Scotland. If you are in a Group and find this site
please e-mail me. It would be great to exchange ideas and find out what
you are up too.
Regards,
James.

I think you may have seen our magazine Focus on First Aid?
I would like to make the offer to give a free copy to all your responders, all you have to do is tell me how many you have and give me a central address and I'll post them.

Joshua,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been away and
when I got back work was really hectic.
We are a small voluntary unit based on the west coast of Scotland.
We are not trained to EMT standard but follow a special First
Responder training course to allow us to use a defib and deliver
emergency care.
It's great to hear from you and I am sure our members would welcome
feedback from your side of the pond.
Regards,
James.

I'm a retired EMT/paramedic with 20 years of experience in pre-hospital
care/transport and the ED/Trauma Centre environment.
I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas with other EMTs/medics in Scotland.

Hi,
Both the Spring 2006 and the Summer 2006 editions of the Scottish
Ambulance Service magazine are now available on their website. The
Summer one includes an articles on T in the Park and a small Responder
Unit to cover the centre of Dundee. You can get to the site from our
links page.
Regards,
James.
Hi folks,
I have just added the figures for August and September. We have now
completed 302 emergency calls since we started in 2003.
Well done everyone.
Regards,
James.
The Largs First Responder Unit is looking for new members. If you have
a bit of spare time, would like to put something back into the
community and could do at least 2 shifts each week then please contact
us via this website.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
James.
Hi,
I have added quite a few links including pages for two Scottish
Groups. It would be daft to try to add links to every First Responder
site but I tried to add as many of the best ones as I could find. If
you know of a Group that is not listed then please let me know.
Regards,
James.
Hi David here - I am also a First Responder along with James. I am
Group Co-0rdinator and James is deputy. The group is well established
in the town and has proved to be working as intended. We give talks
and demonstrations to local organisations and at community events.
Drop us a line if you are working in same type of work.
Welcome to the "Scottish Responder" Group.
I am a First Responder working in Largs on the Clyde Coast. Largs is a
small seaside town and we have had a First Responder Group for over
two years now. I hope that by setting up this Group we can meet other
First Responders, share ideas and develop our skills as time goes on.
Please feel free to post messages and say hello.
Regards,
James.
