Upcoming calendar upgrade: Yahoo! Groups calendars are being upgraded to a much improved version. You may not have access to the calendar (for up to 24 hours) when this group is upgraded. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Description
SDRs (Software Defined Radios) have revolutionised radio DXing. The Perseus SDR is a good example. It is now possible to record entire chunks of the radio spectrum and play them back at a later time. You can adjust parameters like IF bandwidth, mode, noise reduction during playback. A range of 'plugins' and accessories are also available to help with things like wav chopping, frequency measurement and splatter reduction.
You can now keep your recordings for future reference and even share them with other DXers, and this is the reason for creating this group. If the details of such files are psoted here we can create a central reference point for such files.
DX clubs, blogs, etc. are more than welcome to promote themselves here too.
Since people around the world are using SDRs, it made sense to encourage people to share file details in one place. here you can DX the bands in other parts of the world or 'share your own bands'. Upload your files to sites like Rapidshare, Mediafire or youSendIt, etc. and post the links here.
PLEASE NOTE: It is not this group's intention to compete against or interfere with the operation of existing DX groups. For instance, this is NOT a place to post DX loggings or send clips of unidentified DX recordings. Any resulting DX loggings should be reported to your DX club/s.
Please also read the section on SDR Ethics as other people who listen to your files may claim DX loggings and even QSLs for themselves.
Above all, have fun!
