Re: [shropshireautisticsupporters] Tics

Your best port of call is to contact the child psychologist and make an appointment. The point is it could be either/or and to settle it for your own peace of mind this would be your best course of action. Best Wishes SHropshire Autistic Supporters

In the last couple of weeks, I've noticed that my 6 year old autistic
son has developed some tics. Head jerking to one side, head shaking and
nodding, shoulder shrugging, stamping feet, twiddling of fingers,
squealing and saying "Whoo Whoo who", facial expressions, calling us
names and so on. All seem to be done quite regularly and in a pattern.
Last night, especially stood out to me. As after he had finished his
tea, he kept on repeating this 'pattern', but inbetween each one, he
was becoming more and more upset. As if he couldn't get the 'pattern'
in the right order!

I'm wondering is this all part of the autistic behaviour or could it be
the beginnings of Tourette's?
