Thought I would write a few lines to let you readers/members know how
our extraordainary meeting went.
This meeting took place on Friday 15th June 2007 at the Sports
Village in Shrewsbury. All were invited and the meeting was mentioned
in the Chronicle the week before. We had called the meeting to decide
the future of the group-do we continue or cease to be?
A general discussion took place and then a vote. The group will
continue with quite a few radical changes taking place including
these two: A revamp of our website and a new format for our
newsletter. The newsletter will now be written with "family" in mind -
parents caring for children, and carers/adults caring for adults
with Autism.
Autnomy only caters for Aspergers and when the adult group was first
formed the aim was to help "All" with Autism, regardless of the
diagnosis.
Shropshire Autistic Supporters plan to try and address this situation
so keep your eyes peeled for a forthcoming event planned with the
adult with Autism in mind.

As for the website we look to Naughty Mutt.Com to come up with some
interesting suggestions-perhaps you would like to put an idea forward
for consideration, and to that end you are welcome to call me on

We are approaching a new future for the group let us go forward with
enthusiasm and positivity not only for the group but also for all
those living with Autism
