DR VLASAK AND HIS WIFE BANNED FROM ENTRY INTO THE UK

American trauma surgeon Dr Jerry Vlasak and his nurse wife Pamelyn Ferdyn have
been refused entry into the United Kingdom by David Blunkett.

Jerry Vlasak was due to speak at AR2004, an international animal rights
conference that will be held in Kent from September the 3rd to the 6th.

Jerry was coming to talk about the scientific aspect of the anti vivisection
movement.The fact that Jerry came to speak in April at World day for lab animals
without incident seems to have escaped David Blunkett.|

This is a typical knee jerk reaction and a grave day for freedom of speech in
the UK.What are the government and their friends in the drugs industry
frightened of? Are they really so frightened of a life saving trauma surgeon
speaking the truth in the UK? If this is the case then the Animal Rights
movement in the UK must be having one hell of an impact.

In a country where we regularly see everything from the British National Party
inciting racial hatred to rap stars inciting the murder of gays and lesbians.
The only people the Home Office stop are Dr Jerry Vlasak and his wife from
entering the UK to talk about the non validity of animal testing.

The UK has allowed present dictators such as Robert Mugabe to swan into the UK
and allowed Pinochet into the UK both have been personally responsible for many
thousands of deaths. Yet they ban Dr .Jerry Vlasak who spends his working life
saving lives in the hospital theatre. What a perverse decision.



PAMELYN FERDIN'S LETTER TO THE HOME OFFICE

The wife of Jerry Vlasak, Pamelyn Ferdin, has been banned from the UK as well as
her life-saving trauma surgeon husband. This is her response:

The Home Office's citing of a TRO (temporary restraining order) against me is an
issue they are correct on in their letter. But let me explain what a TRO is in
this country.

In every single state in the US home demonstrations are legal (some have certain
limitations like not being able to have "focused home demo's" within 100 feet of
a residence), but we have abided by this. The ONLY reason why I have a temporary
restraining order (TRO) against me at the present time, is because MY evidence
has not been presented to the court; meaning that I have not had my Permanent
Injunction hearing yet. When I do, I can present evidence including a video tape
proving that I was not trespassing.

TRO's are granted here like traffic tickets. Practically every TRO is initially
granted just to be safe until the evidence can be given at the Permanent
Injunction hearing. The Home Office is saying I am guilty of something before I
even go before the court with my evidence!

Most individuals such as myself who engage in peaceful home demonstrations
(which are peaceful pickets on tax payer side walks) are legal, but obviously
are hated by the "animal abusers" we are picketing! The individuals who are
directly responsible for the torture and suffering of innocent animals then
obtain (without the activists being able to give evidence to the contrary), that
the court ought to put in place a temporary injunction against them.

This happened to me in 2003 by another animal abuser and I got the TRO reversed
in the court after giving my evidence, and the city of LA had to pay me fifteen
thousand dollars for illegally trying to deprive me of my legal right to picket!
I am confident that this new TRO against me will end up in the very same
decision once I can give evidence.

In closing, I was a child and teen actress in the 70's (see
www.PamelynFerdin.com) and was the "classic voice of Lucy Van Pelt" in the
Peanuts cartoon (the bossy girl who used to pull the football away from Charlie
Brown.) Charles Schultz, the creator of Charlie Brown and PEANUTS, used to tell
me that I was his first choice to be the voice of Lucy because I was such an
outspoken and assertive little girl!!

If I am guilty of anything, it's being assertive, outspoken and having a "big
mouth"! As an adult, I use my assertiveness in trying to educate an unknowing
public as to the needless agony and torture of innocent beings for the greed and
profit of pharmaceutical/cosmetic and animal testing industries. Not only is
animal research scientifically invalid (see my husband Dr. Jerry Vlasak, a human
surgeon), but is also the absolute worst evil that takes place behind the cinder
block walls of animal labs throughout the world. If you've ever heard the
screams of primates, dogs, cats, guinea pigs, etc. while being imprisoned inside
tiny cages or being experimented on, it literally would haunt you for the rest
of your life. I have chosen to fight and speak out on behalf of those animals
whose screams and cries go unheard and unseen by an uninformed public.
