Background

Today, in Cheshire, a simple yellow sticker had been placed across a road sign.
It read: "KEEP HUNTING - WE (CA)N AND WE WILL"

Finally, the last layer of pro hunt lies has been dropped. No more talk about
liberty to kill, no more rubbish about rural issues. They are being straight to
the point. They know they have lost and they will fight tooth and nail to
preserve hunting. A quick look at quotes in the press and some of the less
savoury pro hunt websites confirms this. The gloves are off. The war is on.
It may not be a war we want, but their arsenal is huge and if we don't do
something WE will be the casualties.

THIS IS THE FINAL BATTLE.

The hunting bill is vital not only for the 200,000 wild animals who die every
year, but for all causes that fight politically. If we cannot ban a minority
activity in which people simply torture animals for pleasure, what is left for
the political process? Many of us voted on the issue of foxhunting and most of
us voted with it in mind. Now it is time for us to act in every way legally
possible to ensure that our votes are heard. If the hunting bill falls, we will
not see a ban on hunting under this Government.

What's Happening With Hunters

SAA are working hard to establish what hunts in Shropshire are doing over the
next few weeks. We need your help. We need information on what hunts are
doing. We need people taking all the action they legally and practically can to
ensure that this bill goes through.

We know that, in the next few weeks, the following is going to happen:

MEETINGS are being held by hunters as this email is sent out and final plans are
coming into place. The CA Regional meeting is in Utoxetter, but we expect far
more are taking place locally

COACHLOADS of hunters will head to Westminster on Wednesday to protest outside
the commons, as the hunting bill is read. If previous demos are anything to go
by, this will be loud, it will be hard and it may be bloody. Coaches are going
from Shropshire. EVERY local hunt is sending a large number of people, it has
been confirmed.

BEACONS will be lit across the country on Monday 13th. One of these Beacons
(which some hunt sources are calling 'land banners') will be near the Wrekin and
may spell out "NO BAN" in flames visible from the air.

CORREX SIGNS will be displayed everywhere possible, urging the government to
drop the ban. SAA anticipate that, like the liberty & livelihood signs, these
will be in many, many places, including places where they can be legally
removed. We expect these signs to appear from Sunday onwards.

A 24 HOUR PICKET will take place in Downing Street as long as parliament is
sitting. Hunts will also be mounting constant protests across the country,
including at the Labour conference.

Their slogan will be "Hunt Ban, Pure Prejudice" and their message will be that
the ban on hunting is based entirely on left wing lower classes opposing rich
upper classes. Black, Asian and Gay supporters of hunting will come out and
shout about prejudice.

What We're Doing

I'm ashamed to say that we're the disorganised ones this time. Please

EVERYONE (please, every single last reader of this email)

WRITE / EMAIL or FAX your MP asking them to vote for the bill and against the
two year phasing in period

WRITE / EMAIL or FAX the Shropshire Star, Telford Journal, Shrewsbury Chronicle
and every other publication you can think of stating why hunting is nothing to
do with prejudice and MUST be BANNED NOW!

POSTCARDS are available to send to Tony Blair. Send them.

EVERYONE WHO CAN (and please, please try)

LET US KNOW if you can do demos, stalls, monitoring of pro hunt rallies, provide
information, legally sab or monitor foxhunts. Call us or email us.

CAN ANYONE ACT AS A PRESS CONTACT FOR SHROPSHIRE ANIMAL ACTION? (many of us
can't do this because of our day job. You would need to be prepared to talk on
radio and TV, though you could use a false name. You'll get some advice on how
to do it.)

TAKE ACTION where you legally get the chance. If you see a sign you can legally
remove, remove it. If you see a hunt stall and are in a safe position to do so,
challenge it, peacefully. If someone at work says: "I feel sorry for the
foxhunters" challenge their view. Pass the message on. Everyone who opposes
hunting MUST take part. Please act legally and responsibly. The slightest
wrong move could jeopardise the bill or, worse still, put you in danger.

DEMO There will be demonstrations in the next few months. You will receive
emails about this. If you would prefer phone calls, send us your phone numbers.
I know this is the hardest part for so many people, but please, if you can.

MEETINGS If anyone thinks we would benefit from an SAA brainstorming night, let
us know. We need to work closely with the local hunt saboteurs, the local hunt
monitors, the local League Against Cruel Sports group and anyone else we can
work with. We don't want to re-invent the wheel or step on other people's tows.
If you think you can make any evening, morning, afternoon or weekend, let us
know. Any contacts who you think should be there, tell us!

PLEASE, PLEASE COME ON BOXING DAY TO NEWPORT. IF HUNTING IS LEGAL ON DEC 26,
THE DEMO WILL BE GOING AHEAD.

For our wildlife, for our fallen friends, for our cause, for fox sake. TOTAL
HUNT BAN NOW!
