Clearly, the situation is getting out of control. This is clear evidence,
AGAIN, that it is farmers and others in the countryside and not just
"sentimental" animal campaigners that are enraged by hunting. Sadly, this time
it is the dogs that are the victims of this ongoing frustration that the
political process is so slow.

Farmer shoots dead hounds during hunt
Two hounds were shot dead by a farmer in north Shropshire after they
wandered onto his land during a hunt gathering, it has been revealed.
The incident happened yesterday.
Around six riders with around a dozen followers in cars were out cubbing
with the North Shropshire Hunt when the man with the gun struck.
One of the huntmasters, Phil Jones, heard the shots at around 8.30am and
when he went to investigate he found the hounds had been shot and were dying.
Mr Jones, who has been hunting for 40 years, said he had spoken to the man
earlier and said he had not given any warnings about what he might do if the
hounds went onto his land in the Paddolgreen area, north of Wem.
Police spokesman Richard Ewels said: "I can confirm that two fox hounds
were shot dead yesterday by a farmer in the Wem area for allegedly worrying his
sheep. The incident is currently being investigated."
