From The Vegan Society ­ NEW TV PROG!!

Vegan and vegan pets wanted!!!


Just spoken with a researcher from the Tiger Aspect Productions for C4
(Channel 4¹s educational wing featuring informative programmes for a
young-ish audience) who are working on a new 5 part programme, called OWhat
Divides Us¹. The films will be fronted by Hardeep Singh Kohli, and look at
issues that we feel hotly divided on in Britain today, such as religion,
family, identity, sexuality and animal welfare. Hardeep has a fun and
disarming approach to topical issues and he will journey through these
subjects in person, talking to different groups.

In the programme on animal welfare Hardeep will be exploring Britain as Oa
country of animal lovers¹ and look at our wide range of animal preferences.
Areas C4 are hoping to cover include fishing, battery farming, animal
welfare activism and veganism. They will feature a range of people and
opinions ­ the programme does not seek to make its own judgment on these
issues.

They are keen to get in touch with vegan families with a vegan pet, who
might agree to Hardeep coming to visit them with a camera. In the first
instance, Ida would like to have a completely non-committal conversation
with families on the phone, and ask a few questions about their experience
of being vegan. This will also allow her to tell them about our project in
greater detail, and find out whether they might consider speaking to Hardeep
on camera. C4 are concentrating on filming around three areas in the UK ­
the Midlands, Bristol / the West, and greater London, so ideally are looking
for families based in that area.

If you can think of anybody you know (yourself included) who might be
interested in speaking to her, do give them her contact details, or let me
know and I will contact them.

C4 will start filming in the next few weeks, and would normally like to go
and visit people beforehand, so the sooner she can speak to people the
better!
