Dear Supporter
Sunlight may seem like a normal company, just getting on with supplying linen
products to the medical business. Sadly, they are not. They also supply
Huntingdon Life Sciences with lab coats, as well as providing a washing service
to them. SHAC, the anti huntingdon campaign group, quoted a source as
complaining that the blood of the terrified, tortured and murdered animals made
the job difficuilt. Following a SHAC campaign, Sunlight quickly denounced their
links with Huntingdon, BUT THEY HAVE NOT. Despite telling SHAC they were
severing links, they declined to say when they would do this, and SHAC
investigators noted them ferrying laundry in and out of HLS.
Recently, Halfords did a U-Turn and re-ran adverts featuring chimps, despite
having told CAPS they would not do this. It seems our big national companies
are developing a severe case of being two faced, and it is time that they faced
up to the reality of what they are doing. Lieing to the animal rights movement
does not work. Our damands are actions for animals, rights for the inncocent,
and we will continue to press for them.
Sunlight have a linen plant in Harlscott, Shrewsbury, one of the few in the
country. This makes it a crucial site for Sunlight. In order to raise
awareness of the companies apparently deceiptful manner, their support of animal
abuse and the vivisection campaign in general, campaigners are planning a
demonstration there on Saturday morning, just before they take to the Shrewsbury
Streets to highlight the Government's deceipt in a day to remember Diaries of
Despair.
